This series showcases modular drawings originally inked on smooth bristol paper. The drawings are scanned and ported into Adobe Illustrator, where I trace them over and prepare them to be sent into other programs as scalable vector files. Using Photoshop or Blender, I then style and or extrude the vector into the 3D images you see below, with final touches, texture, coloring and exporting always performed in photoshop. Broken down, the process usually takes me anywhere from a couple hours to multiple days depending on the complexity of the drawings. In many instances, I keep a back-log of drawings I intend to put through the process although most of the time, I create them for my own enjoyment and choose not to share them online.
I originally developed this style of modular ink art back in 2020 during quarantine, with the 3D vibrant metallic style you see here emerging around half a year later. I put a lot of time and passion into these pieces and sincerely hope you enjoy all their curves, details, colors and textures.
